Sanding and finishing a hardwood floor is a skill learnt over many years. Our fully trained staff work only for Quicksand Flooring and we do not sub contract our work as we firmly believe it's the personal touch that matters.
All our finishers are trained by the company and are taught that it is the customer's satisfaction that is of the up most importance.
We use only the latest of machinery made by a German company called Lagler and have been using these machines for years with nothing but the highest quality of workmanship.

There are several different floor finishes we use:
Polyurethane Seal
One component, Waterbourne finish for the surface treatment of timber floors in homes and other areas subject to normal wear. The high viscosity provides a well bodied surface making application easy without affecting the self-levelling, available in matt, silkmatt and gloss versions.
Interior Natural Floor Oil
Ideal for solid wood flooring, plankwood flooring, block strip flooring, cork. The hardwearing and extremely durable surface is water repellent, dirt resistant, and resistant to wine, beer, coffee, milk, water etc. It also retains its natural appearance and feel after 2 coats applied.
Wax
A wax finish is not as common as the previous due to the maintenance needed to keep it fresh. To maintain a waxed floor it should be buffed every 3 to 4 months with a rotary floor buffer and should also be re waxed every 8 to 10 months to bring the floor back to its original glory. Quicksand offer this service and are happy to maintain the waxed floor at a small cost.
